Working Wardrobe: May 7

It's already halfway through my last week of student teaching, which is just so hard to imagine! This semester just flew by. I know that I'm going to miss each and every student of mine. My four AP US History classes were each unique and added something beautiful to every day at school. When I went home at night I felt fulfilled, knowing that I was building positive relationships with my students through simple, easy, and supportive conversation. Not only that, but teaching new history lessons to my classes in fun, engaging ways made my day - or semester! As the days tick away, I face bittersweet feelings. I'm incredibly excited for my future... Yet, I hate leaving my current students, feeling like I am missing out on seeing the remainder of their high school journey. I suppose this is how I'll feel each time the school year comes to a close and I'll have to focus more on the sweet than bitter.

This week's outfit is fun combination perfect for early summer, with bright colors and lace details. It was ideal for a picnic outside with the Distinguished Scholars class, yet polished enough to feel dressed up enough for the rest of the work day. I added the white schoolboy blazer to stay warm in the air conditioned classroom, which added that final bit of structure to the outfit.
