Headed West: A First Look at Fall Boots

On this day in 1893, more than 100,000 people flooded the Cherokee Strip in Oklahoma in the biggest land rush in history. The men, women, and children had waited anxiously for weeks on the border of the territory prepared to ride as fast as they could on horseback and in carriages to stake out this valuable land for agricultural use. Overnight, towns such as Norman and Oklahoma City popped up as the settlers began to establish their dominance over acreage that had until recently been occupied by displaced American Indians. I just hope for their sakes that their weather was as crisp and cool as today's!

It's now mid-September and fall has clearly arrived as nighttime temperatures have begun to dip into the 60s and 50s. I have started unearthing my autumn boots from storage and am looking forward to being able to throw on a pair with nearly any outfit I wear. There's just something I love about wearing this style of footwear; their snug fit and warmth make it an instant hit. Whether knee-high, equestrian, slouchy, combat, studded, ankle-length, or jewel-toned, any pair have the ability to transform your outfits into fall fashion forward material!
