An early image of Uncle Sam |
Happy Sunday! Did you know that it was on this day back in 1813 that the famous American icon, Uncle Sam, was created? It's true! It came about during the War of 1812 when a New York meatpacker sent barrels of beef to the troops with U.S. stamped on them. The men started nicknaming the food as "Uncle Sam" and quickly word spread to the local newspapers. Uncle Sam became an accepted nickname for the United States federal government and was further cemented by cartoonists who used the name to create the image we know today! So interesting I think!
Michelle Money |
I don't know if you are like me, but if you are you can understand my obsession with Michelle Money's perfect curls that we've seen on ABC's The Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise. She just does a fantastic job making them so voluminous and not too curly, while also making them look oh so perfectly tousled. Today as I was perusing Pinterest I ran across a video she had put up on YouTube detailing just how exactly she achieves the look! You should definitely take a look at her entire beauty videos that she's put online. They are silly, but give some great tips!
I promptly headed to my bathroom and tried out her curling technique with my new Hot Tools 1" curling iron. It turned out surprisingly well! Sometimes I just never know how it's going to work with my fine hair, but the steps of dividing up my hair and curling only small sections helped the curl hold. It's a new technique that I will absolutely use in the future to achieve that perfect tousled curl!
its nice collection
