Fairy Tale: Disneyland's 57th Birthday

Happy Tuesday everyone! I know this post is way later than normal. I do hope you can excuse my delay. I've been moving all weekend into the gorgeous and super spacious townhome out in Merriam with two great girlfriends. We are already having a blast, but we've been super busy too painting, unloading everything, organizing, and decorating. It's a tough job, but we were definitely up for the challenge. If you haven't seen on Twitter/Facebook, below is a preview of my room! I cannot wait to show you it when it is all done. This really is the first time that I've really put some thought, time, and effort into decorating my bedroom so I hope you all like the result!

As denoted by the title, today is the 57th birthday of Disneyland, the first theme park of Walt Disney out in Anaheim, California. By 1955, the year of the park's opening, Disney had already become a great commercial success that had started with his initial creation of Mickey Mouse featured in Steamboat Willy (1928). The American public couldn't get enough of this lovable talking cartoon and soon demanded more from the artist. In the late 1930s and early 1940s, Disney and his team created and produced Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1938), Pinocchio (1940), Fantasia (1940), Dumbo (1941), and Bambi (1942). The park was dreamed up by Walt Disney in the early 1950s to be an educational adventure as well as a fantastical escape from the harsh reality that had accompanied World War II. If they had the means, families from all around the country came to visit this one-of-a-kind park and found themselves engrossed in a wonderland of delight. In the following decades, the theme park continued to renovate and add the latest rides to encourage visitors. Due to its great success, Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida opened its gates to excited guests on October 1, 1971. Unfortunately, Walt had died 4 years earlier and never saw that dream to completion. Today there are five Walt Disney theme parks around the globe and welcome millions of kids, young and old, each year to explore their fairy kingdoms.

Below is my fashion inspiration I got for this post. It's all about embracing your inner princess with a stunning clutch, embellished skirt, daring (yet classy) top, and vivid shoes to remind everyone that you still can throw in a surprise or two. As I've talked in previous posts, I absolutely adore pairing neutrals with a bright neon that is so popular in the fashion trends right now. What better way to add some summer fun to your outfit?
