Working Wardrobe: Tuesday Sept 9

All is different with a hat. It's funny how one accessory can change your whole perspective. For me, when I wear my new hat from H&M I'm transformed into a fashion-forward guru who is an adventurer on weekends and exudes this carefree spirit. I feel like I can be someone else with this new hat. So I love wearing it out not only to protect my face from the sun, but also the functionality of the piece to shift my perspective when I leave the house.

This week for our last warm day, I wore my new dress that I got from my mom. Ok, to be honest, new isn't exactly true. Pre-owned... Used... Definitely. My mom has owned the dress for at least 3 years, but decided this summer to gift it to me when cleaning out her closet. It's my new go-to little black dress (LBD). It hits above the knee so it is appropriate for work, but the hourglass shape and scoop neck back makes it trendy enough for nights out with friends. I paired it with a light colored denim jacket (for warmth in my cold classroom), a white belt (to emphasize my small waist) and bold leopard print heels (to add some pattern). But to convert it to night, I added my fun wool hat and funky sunglasses to add a bit of personality!
