I went with the Rosie the Riveter costume idea (see the DIY from this earlier post) this year at work as it was just so easy to do! It also represents such a important idea of celebrating women in the workplace. (For a fun read on Rosie's history, check out this article!) I had a lot of fun trying to curl my hair to create the pin-curled style indicative of the era and I think it turned out pretty well for having been thrown together at 6am!
I also wanted to show you my personal take on styling combat boots! My favorite way to wear them are with rolled up jeans or cords and a comfy sweater. This weekend I paired my JcPenney's cobalt blue jeans with an old JCrew striped sweater and Banana Republic scarf. Plus I stole Mikael's hipster hat for a bit of added warmth. (Ok, confession, I was secretly hoping to be mistaken for Olivia Wilde!) My chestnut brown combat boots are from Forever21 and go well with any outfit. They don't go too high on the leg, just a bit higher than the ankle, which is perfect. Since my jeans are rolled up, I make sure to wear brightly colored socks just in case they peek out while sitting somewhere!
The most critical thing to search for when taking a gander at work boots of any sort is constancy. You require an item that won't disappoint you. best work boots for women
