Pattern Play

Hello everyone and welcome back! Thanks for being patient with me as I took last week off for my family vacation to Madison and Chicago! I had such a great time and saw some wonderful sights, including the state capital building in Madison, rolling hills filled with golden crops and ruby barns, a darling farmer's market in Chicago's financial district, and, of course, Chris Martin - lead singer of Coldplay. Yep! I got to see Coldplay in concert at the United Center in Chicago and let me tell you, it was incredible. They gave out these bracelets at the beginning of the show that lit up in different colors throughout the show and the band came up to our section to play a few songs so I was literally 15 feet away from Chris! The crowd was just so energetic and Chris brought so much enthusiasm to the performance... it really was the best night ever! Below are a few pictures from my time!

I saw the cutest dress at J.Crew in Chicago (picture below). I loved it's shift dress style and black and white pattern, but it came at a steep $188... too much for my student budget! So I found a sufficient replacement at H&M that works as a perfect knock-off and at only $29.99 it was a steal! Also in this same Dalmatian pattern was a peplum top ($14.99) that is going to be great for this summer/fall season! I'm planning on pairing it with skinny jeans, an emerald green skirt, and dress shorts.

Also this week I did a new nude + neon manicure, which was actually really simple. I used nude, coral red, and gold nail polishes to create the effect. I just painted my ring fingers in gold and the others in nude. Then I carefully painted the red diagonal line on the tips. Pretty easy!

Additionally, this weekend I got crafty and made 3 new pairs of earrings with just acrylic paint, earring hooks, a piece of leather, and a bit of lace (all from Hobby Lobby and at a cost of less than $10). This also was a simple project that only took about an hour to complete and I think they look great!!
