Your Guide: Valentine's Day Date Night

1945 Valentine's Day Card via Wisconsin Historical Society

Valentine's Day has always been one of those holidays that I've loved to publicly hate, but secretly love. I mean, seriously, despite all of the horrendous sappy couples and Facebook statuses, what's not to love? Candy, pink, red, flowers, and hearts? Count me in. Today it's not even a holiday reserved for those couples, as it is commonplace to have a Valentine's Day brunch with girlfriends and give valentines to your BFFs. Did you know that Valentine's Day cards were not just something invented in the 20th century by Hallmark? Those lovely notes have their origins back in the 1700s and papers specifically designed for the holiday became especially popular in the 1820s and the decades hence. Personally, I find the fact that the cards originated in such a non-commercial way is incredibly sweet!

If you've put off buying a Valentine's Day card for your sweetie, take some inspiration from the below and create your own! They are super easy and show just how much you care!

Whether you are going out with your beau for V-Day or having a date with friends, I've put together the perfect outfit for inspiration for you including a lovely beauty guide! I particularly love the mixture of the dark cream and crisp white! What a fun winter pairing! Plus how sweet is that simple heart ring? Such a great buy and is something that can be worn all year!
