Ocular Spectacular and Warby Parker

Eyeglasses are an invention that have a surprisingly lengthy history. The earliest historical evidence was found in ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs from the fifth century BC. In 1286 the first wearable eyeglasses were invented in Italy and by 1301 there were guild regulations in Venice governing their sale. Benjamin Franklin developed bifocals to help with his myopia and presbyopia while corrective lenses for astigmatism were invented in 1825 by British astronomer George Airy. Three major styles of glasses developed, pince-nez with pressure being exerted on the nose, today's modern style with arms from the glasses resting on the ears, and lorgnettes that had a handle attached to be held. Clearly the modern design rose above the others simply due to convenience sake and thank goodness for that!

Eyeglasses have been a necessity for me ever since I was a child and was diagnosed with near-sightedness. I've struggled finding chic glasses that reflected my personality and usually ended up wearing my contacts instead. However, I recently came upon Warby Parker's fashionable frames and instantly fell in love! The designs are super chic and come in a great variety of colors. They also are great because for every pair you buy they donate a pair to a person in need. Which is super awesome! Gotta love a cause that gives you a reason to shop!

All of their glasses are $95 each and they give you the option of a free home try-on! You just find 5 pairs you'd like to try out and order them through the website. I decided to give it a try this week and wanted to show you the results! I ordered Preston in Gimlet Tortoise, Baxter in Catalina Blue, Duckworth in Revolver Black Matte, Huxley in Tennessee Whiskey, and Winston in Lunar Fade. Putting them on for the first time, I could really tell that their made of high quality plastic and were very well designed. I fell in love with the Preston, Baxter, and Duckworth. It's going to be really hard to decide which pair to choose! This is definitely a brand you should check out!
