Working Wardrobe: August 17

Hello, dear readers! Happy fall and welcome back! School has started, students are back, and the reality of summer ending has set in. With that, I rejoin the world again from my summer sojourn that included my couch in downtown Kansas City (Hello, Netflix!), the busy streets of Playa del Carmen, and picturesque beaches of St. John, USVI.

Although school has started, summer is not over in terms of seasons so we still are suffering high temperatures. For the past few months, my go-to bottoms has been this pink pleated skirt from Banana Republic Outlet. It's unbelievably comfortable and seems to go with everything. I also picked up this summer my new Michael Kors bag (thanks eBay!), which I am in love with. I've always wanted a bright red purse and this one seriously is the perfect size. I can't carry too much, which is always a helpful kind of restriction. I paired this with my favorite warm weather chambray shirt (J.Crew) and army jacket - just for those cooler moments when the gush of AC in the classroom comes from the vents.

This summer I also did some serious crafting. In the pictures you can see some of my creations on the wall. I made quite a few woven tapestries (I cannot wait to get a bigger loom!) that add a bit of an eclectic vibe to our place, which I love. I also made the tassel necklace I'm wearing. Don't worry, I plan on sharing the DIY instructions soon!
