Outfit Remix

This week I hit a hurdle with my fashion as I began to realize my outfits were becoming a bit mundane and predictable. Honestly, I was getting a bit bored with the options in my closet and I was in desperate need of some remixing. While it is easy to just go out and buy new pieces to supplement your wardrobe, I wanted to find a new creative way to bring new life to the items I already owned!

I sought some inspiration from two of my favorite fashion sources: the J.Crew Style Book and Pinterest. What did I find? Monochrome. It's a new take on the popular ombre style by wearing a similarly toned outfit with lighter shades on top and darker shades on bottom. This can be done with any kind of piece and looks great on everyone! 

I paired a salmon pink American Eagle button up shirt with wine-red polka dot jeans from JcPenney. You can break up the colors a bit by adding a belt, bright lipstick, or jacket. I paired mine with nude heels, which elongate the leg and finish off the outfit nicely. I also added a statement necklace for a bit of added flair. You can create this look with any color, but I especially like pink/red, mint/teal, and lavender/indigo.

This simple look is a fun new way to remix the items you already have for a bold new look!
