NYE Style Update

It seems incredible that this is my last blogpost of 2012! It has been a great year and I know next year will be an even greater year than before. Thanks very much for keeping up with my fashion blog and be assured that I will keep posting on topics related to history, style, recipes, and crafts. I have a few exciting plans in store for 2013 so stay tuned!!

If many of you are like me and haven't bought a new dress for New Years Eve you now have two options: brace yourself and buy a new dress at a place like Forever 21 or H&M, or you can upstyle a dress already in your closet!

Find a dress that is above the knee. It needs to be of a thicker material and if it has sequins or metallic threading that is even better! If you have a top with a sequined collar that would be a great addition under the dress. If not layer on several statement necklaces. Tie a jewel colored silk ribbon or patterned belt around your waist for a great accent. Pair the dress with a tuxedo jacket, blazer, or leather jacket for warmth. You will need tights for cooler climates and I like to use simple black or patterned black sheer tights. Add on a pair of jewel toned or metallic high heels, but make sure they are fairly comfortable for dancing. Finally, grab a sequined clutch to bring some glitter to your outfit and make you shine!
