This week has been chalk-full of excitement, activities, and some much-needed family time. I applied for a new and exciting job (don't tell my boss), took Friday off in order to come home for the weekend, and had lunch with Bonnie Bing, the senior fashion writer for the Wichita Eagle. Also, this week, the ad-space I won through Chalk White Arrow went up, so definitely check that out!
I am really looking forward to the future and am excited to start doing some freelance fashion pieces this spring. With any luck, I will have a different occupation, published columns, and getting ready to move in with friends by early summer. I am definitely ready for some change.
For this week's "Look of the Day" post, I took a page out of the Atlantic-Pacific blog's book and tried pairing chunky knits with a flowing maxi skirt. Sometimes I find it difficult to pick out outfits that are work appropriate but don't inhibit my personal style. Yet, this one worked out beautifully, especially with this spring-like weather! My J.Crew Factory nautical striped sweater layered perfectly with my vintage cream silk maxi skirt. In order to enhance my natural waist, I added my favorite NY&Co leopard print belt and for fun slipped on my Steve Madden leopard print ballet flats. I kept the jewelry to a minimum in order to balance the outfit, but swiped on my bright Covergirl coral red lipstick to complete the piece.
There are many styles that have been introduced among girls, but the one that is has caught the fancy of many is this version of the shoe, skirt and knitted top.
