Seuss and Inspiration

Tomorrow is Dr. Seuss's birthday and just one I had to celebrate on the blog. Dr. Seuss, aka Theodor Geisel, has always been an artist and author who has inspired me. Even from a young age I remember all of the joy that came from reading his delightfully worded rhythmic rhymes. It was only later that I learned of the deeper themes that Seuss tackled in his writings and political cartoons. In "The Butter Battle Book" Seuss discusses the danger of the escalated build-up of nuclear arms during the Reagan Presidency. "Lorax" dealt with the plight of the environment against the greed of big businesses.
