Working Wardrobe: Wednesday, Aug 20

Busy is one word I'd use to describe this first full week of teaching. It's amazing how quickly the days go now with my students. By the time I get home and finish eating and working out it is already time for bed! This week has been fantastic overall. I have loved getting to know my students and starting to see their fun personalities come out in classes. On Wednesday I went to the first meeting of The Pitch's "Bite Club," a foodie group where we try out local restaurants and review their menu! It was so fun and I can't wait to tell you more about it on Sunday!

Yesterday, I wore one of my favorite dresses. This striped dress is just so comfortable and works really well in the classroom. Ultimately, my goal for work is to dress very professionally, while also showing my fashion interest. I believe as teachers we need to reflect to our students that our classroom is a professional environment and we ourselves are experts. We set the tone that we should be taken seriously and treated with respect. Additionally, by dressing up we can show our students that we value their time in the classroom and appreciate their professionalism. This is definitely something I personally want to reflect, especially as a new teacher!

Later that night, I grabbed my army jacket just in case it got cold
