History and High Heels: Silver Grey & Honey Gold

The trees have shed their leaves as various hues of grey permeate the winter landscape here in Kansas City. Yet cheery golden illumination is found in the windows of houses, on the trees lining Crown Center, and outlining the buildings at the Plaza. I love the contrast of these two colors paired together. In an outfit, they bring an understated elegance that engages the eye during the winter months. Add these with the rich evergreen of the Christmas tree and the simplicity dazzles. I was inspired by the picture to the left that I seem to keep re-pinning every year during the holidays. It draws me in with the silver snow and golden bulbs skirted by the dark green of the branches.
